[Warded against Lestranges, Malfoys, Averys, Mulcibers, Rosiers, Notts, Macnairs, Bletchleys, Selwyns, Greengrasses, Wilkeses, Snape, Agatha Chubb because she is marrying Snape, Burkes, Braithwaites, Yaxleys, Greyback, Pryce, Clara Bauer, Ursula Caldeira, Ciara Fitzpatrick, Andrew Forsythe, that Quirke girl who always sides with the purist snots, Rita Skeeter, and Blacks except Sirius - as are unspecified comments]

So here's something to think about.

If Atticus Avery, our so-called new head of the International Magic Office of Law, and his son were supposedly found innocent of their wrongdoings after being accused by George Goyle as being fellow Death Eaters, why haven't we heard anything from Mr. George since January? Why hasn't he publicly "repented" for his crimes like they're having Greyback do?

If Atticus Avery was innocent, then why did he run the second that his name was called out at what was stupidly a public trial? Our good friends the Averys had never been suspected of anything until then. What was he hiding from?

And if they're just handing out high-ranking Ministry jobs to people who were wrongfully imprisoned, why don't any of those muggleborns who got thrown in there after being Imperiused and put in Death Eater robes have one?

Kinda funny. I know I laughed.

You must realise that our rehabilitation programme is an extremely delicate process. Results do not happen overnight, nor are they possible for everyone to achieve to the same extent. We have been working diligently to make our treatment more widely available, but for the time being, we are still in development stages.

Additionally, Atticus Avery is a brilliant man who has devoted his life to law. You can hardly say that he is unqualified for the position and perhaps not everyone's intentions are as nefarious as you seem to be suggesting.

God DAMMIT I forgot the misogynist. Exactly. Results don't happen overnight. You really expect people to believe that Greyback is already dancing around picking flowers to send to those he's harmed in the past and weeping in counselling sessions? If you were going to rehabilitate, why not start with someone who isn't infamous for attacking and raping and murdering his victims and laughing as he smears their blood for everyone to see? And honestly, even if you do believe that you're doing something good, how do you know he's not just going along with it for you until he gets what he wants?

And if Avery's so dedicated to the law, why did he run from it? He better than anything would have understood that one is innocent until proven guilty. If he was guilt-free, the jury would have seen to that.

The reason we began our work with Greyback is because we did not honestly expect our treatment to have much effect on some one with so notorious a past; however, we were genuinely surprised by how effective it has been. If you had the opportunity to speak with him yourself, you would understand immediately how profound and sincere this change has been. In some ways, Greyback may have been the perfect candidate for our treatment without our having realised - his violence is not sociopathic, but caused by his feelings of conflict after having been ostracised from his family, friends and all of society. Over years of facing enduring public hatred, he eventually became the monster that people already assumed he was. His work with the Mind Healers has been paramount in breaking down the foundations of his behaviour and re-building in a more productive way. Even so, we will naturally be watching him closely, as society has its own self-destructive habits and will likely not make life easy for him - we hope that when we are through, he will be much stronger, if not impervious to their effects.

And perhaps this 'running' you speak of was not running at all, but a personal circumstance of which you are unaware. And even if you were correct in your assumptions, fear may cause people to do irrational things. Mr Avery is the least of anyone's problems.

I have had the chance to speak with him myself, thanks. More than enough chances and ones that have nearly resulted in my death, one of these which occurred LESS THAN A MONTH AGO, so the only thing sincere that I'm seeing here is how sincerely full of crap this whole thing is. And even if this is the Miracle Cure that you're saying it is, what about the people who've admitted to their guilt before, provided intimate details of exactly how they got into people's houses and murdered them, who are suddenly just out and walking the streets again? Why aren't they at Mungo's getting this Life Changing Therapy?

And personal reasons? Really? You think that personal reasons are justifiable means for someone to hide from the law and remain as a wanted criminal for months? Because the only personal reason I can think of that would prompt a person to do that would be if they personally knew that they were guilty.

Where would the most of our problems lay, Mr. Travers?

Hello dear. I'm sure I must be misunderstanding, because it sounds like you are spreading vicious rumours and accusing the government of lying to people in order to spread dissent.

Hello muffincake. Fret not, you are misunderstanding. I'm simply just trying to get my facts straight.

That's Miss Umbridge, thank you. Which facts are you attempting to straighten out, precisely?

Golly, so sorry Miss Umbridge; I'll remember for next time. And the questions that're up in my main entry. There seems to be a tiny little canyon between what happened and what the public knows that all those details seem to've fallen into.

Well, Miss McKinnon, let me see if I can be of some assistance.

Unfortunately, I shall have to let Mr Travers or Hr Dolohov address your question regarding the prisoner George Goyle, as the Department of Magical Law Enforcement is not involved in the selection process for the rehabilitation programme, but I am quite certain that if he were a candidate, we should be hearing from him very soon -- and if not, well, I certainly hope you aren't suggesting we give journals to common criminals if they have nothing constructive to say.

As for Mr Avery and his son, surely you do not believe they would have been fairly treated by the Department of Magical Law Enforcement, now known to be full of traitors and blackguards? Mr Avery has been an extraordinarily upstanding member of society, and worked very closely with several departments in the Ministry of Magic. I am sorry to say that he became aware sooner than the rest of us that there were those in the Department unfit for their duties, but he underestimated how widespread this disease of treachery was. We discovered several complaints written by Mr Avery in the debris of the files burned by previous law enforcement agents against several prominent members -- suffice it to say that he foretold the persecution that would entail should his future be left to the hands of that Department.

I am unsure to whom you are referring when you suggest that ministry positions have been "handed out", as the only ex-prisoner in a high ranking office to date has been Minister Nott, whose election by the people surely makes clear the public feeling on his innocence.
