Everybody dies.

We live long enough to make other people hurt like hell when we die, and that's life. They had waffles at breakfast and I feel like it was somehow on purpose although I don't know why it would be. I had toast instead. It's all still too soon to be a nice reminder, and every time anyone is mentioned it's this awful jarring reminder that Ted is gone, and Caradoc is gone, and Dumbledore is gone, and if we were losing the war before, we've flat out lost now.

I'm trying to not let myself be sad yet. I'm actually okay for once after a fight, and I can help people get out of here, and then... I don't know. We'll figure out where to go from there.

We'd asked him to be our secret keeper. I guess it's for the best that we never got around to it, but I'm still glad we had the chance to ask. Marius looked afraid of me. I want to think that Doc would've been proud.

God Dumbledore left us a fuck lot of money.

[Hogwarts Refugees]

Everyone, I think we're going to be heading out to the tunnel soon, so if you are ready and able, please start gathering your stuff and heading up to the fourth floor. Those of you who are helping apparate the injured, meet up with the Healers, they can tell you who to help out. We've got stretchers sort of so we can work with that. We want EVERYONE to be up there in 50 MINUTES, so PLEASE try to be prompt. We've got a short window of time here if we want to make sure this works.

No one go into the tunnel until we give the signal that it's okay to Go Forth, which will happen as soon as we hear back from my contacts on the outside. As long as we all work fast and together this should work out completely according to plan. We apparate out to the hotel, and everyone should check in with Frank and Alice Longbottom as soon as we're there. Once we're all at the hotel and accounted for, we can figure out where to go from there. PLEASE no one attempt anything crazy or heroic or dumb this time, this is something solid that'll get us all out safely, and that is priority number one.

Thank you, it's been a pleasure working with you all, and I think we can all make this work.

We'll need at least six people to carry conjured stretchers, people with some sense of strength and gentleness, please. If you're going to do that, please cast bubblehead charms on yourself to protect the people who need stretchers from infections (not suggesting that we're all a bunch of plague rats, but we just want to take every precaution possible).

Also, I'd recommend that if you're not sure that you'll be able to focus on the hotel well enough or have enough determination, to please ask someone if you can side-along with them. Again, I'm not suggesting that anyone is less than capable of apparation on a normal day, but we don't want people to be in need of pain potions and essence of dittany at the same time.

If the people on stretchers are going first, I can help carry one too, before we have to apparate people.

I don't know yet who's going first...they'll need to have people apparate with them anyway, and I don't know if it's better to have them go first so that we can get it over with or if we should just wait until the last possible moment.

My instinct right now is that they should go first just in case things go wrong...we don't want the last bunch of us being just the worst off.

Where I'm from it's more like "don't you talk that way about my mama!" You say malign and you get shanked.

You're a bad, bad person. You just hide it with the innocent looks and big "who me?" eyes.

Hestia, you are awesome.

I think we should probably get the people on stretchers out there close to the front, but not entirely so just in case, so that there are people out there to keep back any intruder types IF something happens, so that they can be taken out of there.

We'll try to be the second group, then. I'm sticking with the stretchers, just so I can be sure that they're alright once we reach the hotel.

I really do not like moving people that are

I'll need help with bags for people who are maybe not well enough to help with the injured, but who are able to carry something. I'm going to start bringing those down from the Hospital Wing to the Fourth Floor so if anyone is able to help with that, it would be appreciated.

We're all set. Give me the word and the firework show will start.

We've got some other volunteers to get the distractions started but if they have to get out in a hurry I'll still be under the cloak and ready to do anything I can think of to keep them busy. Fires, ghost snitches, peacock sounds. Anything. Just get everyone out.
